VNN’s “News In A Minute” is an hourly digest version of the VNN cast, airing each hour of our broadcast day at 53:00 past with the same commercial avail from our bottom of the hour newscast attached.
This gives you a 3:00 or 2:00 minute option for Virginia news each hour, fitting easily into your live or syndicated broadcasts.
Relay Closures Are Here Your VNN IDC receivers and the associated switcher are now feeding relay closures for ease of automated operation. For information about the VNN relay closure array, and information about the VNN IDC receiver 4x16 switcher, download the complete Digital switcher technical instructions HERE.
There are NO old fashioned DTMF tones. This system has been eliminated.
Hourly Spot Feeds For Ease of Compliance and Operation Your VNN Affiliation Agreement requires you to clear our commercials even when you do not clear the programming. We now feed each hour’s VNN required commercials by themselves so that you can automate your VNN clearance without needing to assign any production staff time to compliance.
Spot Feeds as follows:
Weather spots feed at 23 minutes past each hour they are attached the the VNN State Weather Forecast.
Newscast spots feed at 27 minutes past each hour they are attached to VNN Newscasts.
Sportscast spots feed at 51 minutes past each hour they are attached to VNN Newscasts.
Note: Due to these automation friendly spot feeds we are moving two VNN features, Monday-Friday:
Logs On Line VNN has transitioned from weekly to monthly Clearance Affidavits this year, and you can fill these affidavits out electronically via our website. Call us and we’ll tell you how.
We have spent time recently talking with our affiliates and we are responding to your desire to make compliance easier, and make VNN Newscasts fit better into crowded broadcast hours.

VNN Commercial Audio and Programming available “On Demand”
As part of VNN's ongoing moves to make our affiliation easier and more useful, we have created an "on demand" web-site for VNN commercials. For those of you who db VNN commercials outside of our programming, you now have the option of downloading or streaming spots over the web available at your convenience. This will allow your production staff to stream or download .mp3 files of VNN commercial audio at their convenience, without the need to monitor our conference calls for these commercials.Click on the link called VNN Spots on the left, enter your user name and password, and you're in.
Call VNN Affiliate Relations Director Al Spry at 866-304-6397 or email alspry@virginianewsnetwork.com to get your password. It's that easy. We appreciate your affiliation and we intend to be the most user-friendly network available.
Thanks for your continued VNN Affiliation.
